informative, very practical and run by staff who are passionate about instructor training.

Lowland Leader Scheme
If you would like to lead groups in open countryside on way marked paths then this is the scheme for you. CHMAS is approved to provide training and assessment courses so please click on the image to find out more.

Expedition Skills Module
If you already hold the Lowland Leader or Hill & Moorland Award and would like to add camping to your remit then this the course for you. CHMAS is approved to provide the combined training / assessment module so please click on the image to find out more.

Hill & Moorland Leader Scheme
If you would like to lead groups on the high fells off way marked paths then this is the scheme for you. CHMAS through our association with Mountain Training Cymru provider Bigfoot Services Ltd can provide an opportunity for you to participate in a Hill & Moorland Training or Assessment course from their base in Brecon.
This Mountain Training qualification scheme is for those who are currently involved or keen to become involved in leading others in open, uncultivated, non-mountainous high or remote country known variously as upland, moor, bog, fell, hill or down that are easily exited within a few hours within the UK and Ireland.
Details of the syllabus can be viewed at the Mountain Training website. Please note, to participate in this course you must have registered with Mountain Training prior to the start of the course.

Mountain Leader Scheme
If you would like to lead groups in mountainous terrain or remote locations then this is the scheme for you. CHMAS through our association with Mountain Training Cymru provider Paul Poole Mountaineering can provide an opportunity for you to participate in a Mountain Leader Training or Assessment course from their base in North Wales.
This Mountain Training qualification scheme is for those who are currently involved or keen to become involved in leading others in mountainous or remote terrain within the UK and Ireland.
